New DNS-setting required per February 14, 2024

We kindly request your immediate attention to an important task regarding the sending of mail from ABOSS using your own Domain DNS settings. It is crucial that you complete this action before February 14, 2024.

Why do you need add new DNS-settings

Google and Yahoo recently announced new sending requirements that will go into effect in February 2024. If you are interested, you can read Google's and Yahoo's announcements for the full details.

This means all our Agency's / Artist's who have DNS set-up, should add settings. This process is technical; if you lack experience in DNS configuration, we recommend seeking assistance from someone knowledgeable in this area. Alternatively, you may contact your hosting provider for support.

Once you've updated the settings, please contact us via Support Chat to complete the final step in enabling your account.

Deadline

It is crucial to add these settings by February 14, 2024.

Why it's important

Failure to comply may lead to significant email delivery issues, such as customers not receiving crucial communications, like contracts, invoices, availability requests, etc. We urge you to complete these updates before February 1st, 2024.

How to add the new settings

DKIM

DKIM is a DNS-based email authentication mechanism that helps Mandrill more effectively send mail on your behalf by allowing receivers to verify that we have permission to send your email.

  • To enable DKIM:
Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com * with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com, and another with the name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com * and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com

Note: some hosts need a dot, like below. We will check your settings and let you know if this is the case.

  • Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com * with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com. (notice the added dot), and another with the name mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com * and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com. (notice the added dot)

DMARC

A DMARC policy is an authentication protocol that can be added to your domain to help protect against fraud and increase deliverability. Beginning in 2024, Mandrill requires a minimum DMARC policy of "v=DMARC1; p=none" to be added to any sending domain. Read more about additional configurations available at dmarc.org.

  • To enable DMARC:
Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with a host of _dmarc.yourdomain.com* and a value of v=DMARC1; p=none

*Some domain hosts automatically add 'yourdomain.com' after the initial value โ€” contact your domain provider for any specifics

Examples

Sample of how the settings need to look in Cloudflare. We will add more when we have them.
