When you send an email from ABOSS the recipient will see that it has been sent from email@example.com. The Reply-To is already set to your own email address, but you might just want to tweak that a little bit further by setting the senders email address to your own.
To do so, you have to update some of the DNS settings of your own domain. This steps are a bit technical, if you have no experience doing so it is advised to ask some help from somebody who has more experience with changing the DNS configuration. If you do not have such a person at hand, you can contact your hosting provider.
Two records need to be added to your DNS settings. Replace the [domain] with your own domain (also remove the '[ ]' brackets).
- Create a TXT record (for DKIM) with the key mandrill._domainkey.[domain] with the following value:v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;
- Create a TXT record (for SPF) with your [domainname] as the key and the following value: v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ?all
Important note: There can only be 1 SPF record for a domain. If you need multiple SPF records, please merge the content into 1 record.
If your mail provider has any questions please have them contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After adding these records please contact us, so we can take care of the last step.
You will then receive an email from Mandrill to validate your address, please forward this mail to email@example.com.
Please note that when the DNS update is done, only users with this domain can email from ABOSS.
If a user has an email address with a different domain than there must be a DNS record update for that domain as well to be able to mail from ABOSS. When that’s necessary please contact us.
