Finalizing Your New Template
1. Accessing Contract/Invoice Templates
To start, navigate to your Contract or Invoice Templates:
For the most part, the process is the same for both contracts and invoices, with just a few small differences that we’ll explain as we go along.
2. Creating a New Template
Begin by creating a new template:
Scroll to the bottom of the template page and enter a name for your new template.
Click Create Template (or press Enter) to save the new template.
By default, the new template will have a basic setup for contracts or invoices, which you can ignore for now.
3. Copying the Old Template
To copy the existing template:
Open a new tab and navigate to the template you want to duplicate.
Each template typically has multiple sections (e.g., Header, Body, Footer for contracts).
For each section, look for the "< >" icon at the bottom right. Click this icon to access the code for that section.
The code might seem overwhelming, but don’t worry. Here’s what you need to do:
Select the entire code (For Windows: CTRL + A; For Apple: Command + A).
Copy the selected code (For Windows: CTRL + C; For Apple: Command + C; or right-click and select Copy).
4. Pasting to the New Template
Now that you’ve copied the code, it’s time to paste it into the new template:
Go to your new template and click on the "< >" icon to open the code section.
Ensure you are pasting the header code into the Header, the body code into the Body, and the footer code into the Footer.
Select all the code in the relevant section of the new template and paste the copied code (CTRL + V for Windows, Command + V for Apple).
Repeat the process for each section (Header, Body, Footer), ensuring you overwrite the old code with the new one.
After pasting the code, press OK and Save after each section.
5. Important Note: Display Settings
For invoices, pay attention to the Display section:
By default, "Display Invoice Posts" is enabled, but you may want to turn it off depending on how you prefer the template to appear.
Make sure to copy this setting as well if you want to replicate the display options from your old template.
6. Finalizing Your New Template
Once you’ve copied and pasted everything, your new template is ready!
You can now make any adjustments or changes as needed.
