It might be useful to copy the template(s) you have for your contracts and invoices. For example, for another project, or section of your company, or logo. Whatever!

Let's see how you can copy templates simply.

Go in office or settings to your contract / invoice templates.

For the most part, the copying is the same for contracts & invoices, but I will guide you through the differences.

Creating the new template

First, create a new template at the bottom:

Enter a name and press the Create Template-button (or Enter) to save your new template. By default, your new template will have a set-up for contract/invoice. You can ignore this.

Open a new tab and navigate to the template you want to copy.

Copy the old template

You may have noticed that your templates have multiple sections. For contracts it's a header, the body and a footer. Each section has it's own menu for changing the template, like this:

On the right at the bottom, you will find this icon: < >

If you click it, you will get the code for your template. It might be a bit overwhelming, but no worries. This is where you will be copying for your new template.

Make sure you select the whole code (for Windows CTRL + A, or for Apple command + A). Copy the code (for Windows CTRL + C, or for Apple command + C, or right click > copy).

Paste to the new template

Go to your new template and click on the < > sign to open the code. Make sure that you copy the header to the header, etc.

Select all the code inside and paste the copy by right click > paste, or CTRL + V for Windows, or command + V for Apple.

Your copied code will overwrite the old cold.

Press Ok and Save after every section copied.

Display on / off

For invoices, beware that you also copy the Display - section. By default "Display Invoice Posts" is on, but you might not want to use this.

Copied everything? Your new template is ready!

You can make the changes you want now.
