Templates in ABOSS allow you to define the layout and content of your contracts and invoices. They determine how information from your agency, projects, events, and deals is displayed in the final PDF output. With ABOSS, you can fully control this output by building and editing your own templates.

Templates are created and edited with the WYSIWYG editor. For advanced customization, templates can also be edited directly in HTML and Liquid.

1. What templates are used for

Templates define the structure and content of your contract and invoice PDFs. They control how data entered in ABOSS is displayed, such as agency details, project information, event data, and deal information.

A correctly set up template ensures that all entered data is displayed clearly and consistently in the final document.

2. Contract templates

Contract templates are used to generate contract PDFs. They focus on content and layout and do not include calculation toggles.

Contract templates consist of:

  • Header

  • Content

  • Footer

Contract templates can be created and managed via Office > Contract Templates.

The Contracts module is not available in Artist PRO.

3. Invoice templates

Invoice templates are used to generate invoice PDFs. In addition to layout and content, invoice templates support calculations through template settings.

Invoice templates consist of:

  • Header

  • Content

  • Calculation toggles and descriptions

  • Content continued

  • Footer

Invoice templates can be created and managed via Office > Invoice Templates.

4. Template sections

Each template is divided into sections. Each section has its own editor and toolbar, allowing you to update specific parts of the template without affecting the rest.

5. The WYSIWYG editor

ABOSS uses a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor to build and design templates. Changes made in the editor are reflected immediately.

The toolbar allows you to format text, add images, create tables, insert page breaks, and switch to HTML view. Each template section has its own toolbar.

6. HTML and Liquid

Templates can be edited directly in HTML by clicking the <> icon in the editor.

ABOSS uses Liquid as its template language. Liquid allows you to insert dynamic content using data from the agency, project, event, and deal linked to the document.

7. Support

If you need help setting up or adjusting your templates, contact Support via the blue Support Chat button in the bottom right of your ABOSS account. We are happy to help you review or adjust your templates.
