Customizing a Single Contract in ABOSS
Easily Make Edits to Individual Contracts

Sometimes, you may need to edit a single contract instead of modifying the template for all contracts. ABOSS allows you to do this using the "Customize this contract" option.

Table of Contents

  1. Accessing the Customize Option

  2. Understanding the Custom Template

  3. Editing Options

    • Edit with Variable Data

    • Edit with Locked Data

  4. Saving Your Custom Contract

  5. Important Notes

1. Accessing the Customize Option

While working on an event, go to the Contract tab. Here, you will find the "Customize this contract" button. Clicking this button will open a new tab where you can make individual edits to the contract.

2. Understanding the Custom Template

Once you click on "Customize this contract", the template name will automatically change to "[custom] Template name". Any changes made to the email template will not affect this custom contract template, ensuring the customization is limited to this specific contract.

3. Editing Options

At the top of the screen, you’ll see two editing options:

Edit with Variable Data

When you choose to edit with variable data, you’ll have the same editing options as with regular contract templates, found in the Office section. This allows you to modify fields as needed.

Edit with Locked Data

When you select edit with locked data, the document will display all the liquid fields pre-filled with event information. In this mode, you can edit the contract directly in the editor by adding or removing text as needed. This gives you full control over the content of the contract.

4. Saving Your Custom Contract

Once you've made your changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save button. After saving, the contract preview on the right side of the screen will automatically reload to reflect your changes.

Note: if this button is not visible, make sure your browser is not zoomed in and also up to date and full screen.

5. Important Notes on Locked Data

When editing with locked data, the contract becomes disconnected from future event changes. The contract will be locked. This means that any updates made to the event will not be reflected in the contract. Additionally, you’ll need the proper permissions within ABOSS to edit contracts.

Also, any data changed while customizing, such as fees, booking fees, etc., will not be reflected in your DEAL environment in ABOSS.
