Blocking Off Time on Your Artist's Calendar
Managing an artist's schedule involves not only booking events but also ensuring that personal time, such as holidays, is accounted for. When an artist informs you that they will be unavailable for a period, you can block off this time in the ABOSS calendar. This guide will walk you through the steps to set a calendar block, manage its details, and understand its impact on scheduling.

1. Creating a Calendar Block
When your artist informs you of their unavailability, such as a holiday, you can easily block this period on their calendar. Here’s how to do it:
Select Your Project: Begin by selecting the relevant project from your project list.
Open the Calendar Tab: Navigate to the calendar tab within the project.
Initiate the Block: Click on the day you want the block to start. A pop-up window will appear.
Select the Block Icon: In the pop-up, choose the Block icon to create a block event, prompting you to enter details for the blocks.
By default, the block will be titled "Block", but you can customize this to better reflect the nature of the block:
Edit the Block Name: Change the default name to something more specific if needed (e.g., "Holiday" or "Unavailable").
Set the Duration: Use the date picker within the pop-up to select the start and end dates for the block.
Add a Contact: If the block only applies to a specific member of the team, such as the drummer, you can add them as a contact within the block.
Include Notes: Add any notes that might be relevant, such as the reason for the block or any special instructions.
Save Block: Click "Save Block" to finalize it. The block will now be visible in both the Calendar and the Dashboard overview.
The block is automatically shared with the artist and any crew members who have access to the ABOSS calendar. This ensures everyone is aware of the unavailability.
2. Viewing Blocks and Conflict Alerts
Blocks serve not only to indicate unavailability but also play a role in scheduling:
Visibility in ABOSS App and Browser: Blocks are visible in the ABOSS app and via the (mobile) browser on all platforms, ensuring access from anywhere.
Conflict Alerts: When entering a new booking during a blocked period, the system will flag this as a conflict, helping you avoid scheduling errors.
