How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Using an Authenticator App

1. Why Use Two-Factor Authentication?

2FA significantly enhances your account security by requiring both a password (something you know) and a second factor like a smartphone (something you have). This extra layer protects your account, even if your password is compromised.

2. Setting Up 2FA with an Authenticator App

The following steps will guide you through setting up 2FA with an authenticator app. Any changes you make will be applied to both your ABOSS Agency and ABOSS Artist accounts, ensuring consistent security across both environments.

Enable 2FA

  • Log in:
Log into the ABOSS account you want to secure.

  • Navigate to Profile Settings:
Click on your name in the top right corner, then select 'Profile Settings'.

  • Two-Factor Authentication:
Click on the 'Two-Factor Authentication' tab.

  • Enable 2FA:
Click the blue 'Enable Two-Factor Authentication' button. A pop-up will guide you through the setup process.

01: Choose an Authenticator App

If you don’t have an authenticator app yet, download one of the following:

  • Google Authenticator: download for iOS and for Android.

  • Microsoft Authenticator: download for iOS and for Android.

02: Scan the QR Code

ABOSS will display a QR code on your screen.
Use your chosen authenticator app to scan the code, which securely transfers the secret key to your app.

03: Verification

The app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in ABOSS and click 'Activate Two-Factor Authentication' to enable 2FA.

04: Save Backup Codes (Important!)

Once 2FA is enabled, ABOSS will provide backup codes. Save these codes in a secure location, as they are essential if you lose access to your authenticator app or device.

3. Using 2FA in Daily Login

After setup, whenever you log in:

  1. Enter your password.

  2. Open your authenticator app and enter the code that refreshes every 30 seconds.

Setting up 2FA with an authenticator app adds a robust layer of protection to your ABOSS account. It significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, safeguarding your personal and professional information.
