The Calendar Feed is a useful tool to sync your ABOSS Calendar with your personal calendar, allowing you to manage your schedule more effectively. If you haven't installed the feed yet, check out the setup article.

Step 1: Delete the Old Calendar

To update your calendar feed, you first need to remove the old link, as changes can't be made to the already synced calendar.

For iCal

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Go to the Settings app and select Mail.

  2. Click on Accounts.

  3. Click on Subscribed Calendars.

  4. Select the calendar you wish to delete.

  5. Click on Delete Account.

  6. Confirm by clicking on Delete Account again.

On Mac:

  1. Open the Apple Calendar.

  2. If not open, open all your calendars by clicking on the Calendar icon (top left, next to the '+' icon).

  3. Right-click on the name of the calendar you wish to delete.

  4. Click on Delete.

For Google Calendar:

  1. Navigate to Google Calendar.

  2. On the left side, find Other calendars.

  3. If needed, click on the arrow to open.

  4. Hover your mouse over the calendar you want to delete and click on the three dots.

  5. Click on Settings.

  6. At the bottom, find Remove calendar.

  7. Click on Delete.

For Microsoft Outlook:

  1. Navigate to Outlook.com.

  2. Go to the calendar.

  3. Find the list of calendars you have a subscription for on the left-hand side.

  4. Right-click on the calendar and click on Delete Calendar Name.

Step 2: Retrieve the New Feed Link

Now, find a new link with your preferred settings.

  1. Open the calendar of the project you want to subscribe to. Do this in your browser on a laptop / computer.

  2. Press the Feed button at the top of your screen.

  3. In the pop-up screen, click on the arrow next to Customize your feed.

Step 3: Customize Your Feed

From here, you can customize your feed to include only the items you want:

  • Interested, option, confirmed, cancelled: Choose the status of events you want to display.

  • Travel items: Include travel events such as car, flight, hotel, etc.

  • Block items: Include blocked times for holidays, free days, etc.

You can opt-out of any items you do not want to show. If using Google Calendar, you can also select your timezone.

Step 4: Copy the Link

Copy the link ending with '.ics' by clicking on it. This link is needed to import the feed into your desired calendar. You will receive a notification when the link is successfully copied.

Step 5: Add the Feed to Your Personal Calendar

iOS Devices

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords.

  2. Under Accounts, select Add Account.

  3. On the next screen, select Other and then Add Subscribed Calendar.

  4. Add the URL of your feed in the Server field, press Next, change the calendar name, and press Done.

On a Mac

  1. Open the calendar on your Mac.

  2. Go to File > New Calendar Subscription.

  3. Paste the URL from your ABOSS Calendar into the field that pops up.

  4. Click Subscribe and set your preferences.

On Google Calendar

  1. Log in to your Google Calendar account.

  2. Click on the '+' next to Add a coworker's calendar and select From URL.

  3. Paste your ABOSS Calendar URL, then click Add Calendar.

Important Note: Google Calendar only syncs once every 24 hours, so tasks added in ABOSS may not show up immediately.
