The Calendar Feed is a useful tool to sync your ABOSS Calendar with your personal calendar. You might not want see all the blocks, for example, the cancelled events, or maybe just the confirmed shows.

This article will show you how to adjust the feed you've already installed on your personal device. If you didn't install the feed yet, check out this article to get started.

Delete old calendar

We can't make changes to the calendar that's being synced, so we have to remove the old link.

For iCal:

  • On iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to the Settings app and select 'Mail'

  2. Click on 'Accounts

  3. Click on 'Subscribed Calendars'

  4. Select the calendar you wish to delete

  5. Click on ‘Delete Account’

  6. Confirm by clicking on 'Delete Account' again

  • On Mac

  1. Open the Apple Calendar

  2. If not open; open all your calendars, by clicking on the Calendar-icon (top left, next to the '+' icon)

  3. Right-click on the name of the calendar you wish to delete

  4. Click on ‘Delete’

For Google Calendar:

  1. Navigate to Google Calendar

  2. On the left side, you will find 'Other calendars'

  3. If needed, click on the arrow to open

  4. Hover your mouse over the calendar you want to delete, and click on the three dots

  5. Click on 'Settings'

  6. In the bottom you will find 'Remove calendar'

  7. Click on 'Delete'

For Microsoft Outlook

  1. Navigate to Outlook.com

  2. Go to the calendar

  3. Find the list of calendars you have a subscription for - on the left-hand side

  4. Right click on the calendar and click on 'Delete Calendar Name'.

Retrieve the new feed link

Step two is to find a new link, with your preferred settings.

To add the feed to the calendar, open the Calendar of the project you want to subscribe to and follow the following instructions. Select your project first.

Note: this does not work when you are working under the 'All Projects' Calendar. Check this, in case you are connected to multiple Projects.

Open the Calendar.

Press the 'Feed' button at the top of your screen.

A pop-up screen will open. Click on the arrow next to 'Customise your feed'.

Customise your feed

From here you can start customising your feed.

Check out the options:

  • Interested, option, confirmed, cancelled: corresponds with the status of your events. For example; if you only want to show te confirmed events on your personal device, click the others off.

  • Travel items: are all the travel events, such as car / flight / hotel, etc.

  • Block items: are all the blocked items, you might use this for holidays, free days, etc.

Opt-out what you don't want to be shown.

You will also find Google Calendar header. Only use this is to select your own timezone, only when using Google Calendar.

Copy the link

Copy the link ending with '.ics', just by clicking on it. This is the link you need to import the feed in your desired calendar. You will receive a notification when it has worked.

Your new feed is now created! Let's paste it into your personal calendar.

What software do you use?
We have the following instructions available. Read below and find your instructions.

  • iOS Devices

  • Mac

  • Google Calendar

On iPhone or iPad
Please note: These instructions are based on the latest version of iOS. If you are running an older version, the settings names may be different.

Go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords

Under Accounts select 'Add Account'.

On the next screen select 'Other' and select 'Add Subscribed Calendar'.
Add the URL of your feed in the Server field, press next and change the calendar name so you can identify the calendar and press 'Done'.

On a Mac
Open the calendar on your Mac. Go to File > New Calendar Subscription.

Paste the URL from your ABOSS Calendar into the field that pops up.

Click Subscribe, and you’ll then be able to set some preferences (how frequently you want the calendar to update, if iCal should ignore attachments, etc).

On Google Calendar
Login to your Google Calendar account. Click on the '+' next to 'Add a coworker's calendar' and select 'From URL' .

Paste your ABOSS Calendar URL, then click 'Add Calendar'.

Important note: Google Calendar only syncs once every 24 hours, so tasks you added in ABOSS will not show up immediately in your calendar.
