Important Notes
1. What is Region Protection?
Region Protection alerts you to possible conflicts in your calendar based on the geographic proximity of events and a specific timeframe. The distance between events is calculated "as the crow flies," and conflicts are determined by the radius and time window you define.
2. Region Protection Parameters
When setting up Region Protection, you can define the following parameters:
Radius in meters: The geographical distance within which conflicts should be identified.
Days before the event: The number of days before an event that should be checked for conflicts.
Days after the event: The number of days after an event that should be checked for conflicts.
3. Setting Up Region Protection
You can configure and view Region Protection conflicts at different levels, depending on how broad or specific you want the protection to be:
Agency Level: Region Protection applies to all projects and events managed by your agency.
Project Level: Region Protection is active for selected projects and all their associated events.
Event Level: Region Protection is inactive by default for individual events unless specifically enabled.
4. Important Notes
Location Information: To accurately detect conflicts, your event locations must have latitude and longitude information. ABOSS will automatically add these details if you use Google Search to enter locations.
Distance Measurements: Currently, distances are measured in meters. If you prefer to work in miles, yards, or another unit, you can easily convert the values using Google.
